How to get new followers on Facebook for your Escape Room?

You might ask, why are followers important? Well, with more followers on Facebook (and ultimately on other social networks like Instagram), you will be able to connect with more people, promoting your escape room and getting new bookings. Of course, not all new followers will turn into customers, but the more you get the better, and with the strategy we'll share with you, you can get a lot of followers at a very low cost.

Get more followers by following 4 easy steps.

Strategy

The strategy is very simple.

  • Create and design a competition that offers a free visit to your escape room for a team.
  • Publish a post on your Facebook page, promoting the competition.
  • Promote the competition post to people in your area at a cost of €5 per day.
  • Try to interact with all your followers to get the most out of it (reservations!).
  • Choose and announce the winner. Repeat this same process a few months later.

Now, let's go through each of the steps, where we will also give you some examples and templates so you can implement this strategy in less than an hour.

Step 1 - Create the competition

There are 4 parts of the competition that you will need to decide on before proceeding:

  1. The prize- what people are competing to win - be clear and generous.
  2. Quantifies the value- what is the value of the prize? The higher the value, the more people will participate.
  3. DeadlineBe transparent about the deadline and stick to it. It should not be too far away and not too close so that you can get as many responses (and followers) as possible.
  4. Rules- what people must do to enter the competition.

Here is an example of a contest you can run:

  • Prize = free entry for one person and 4 of their friends to play in your most popular escape room.
  • Value = Minimum €100
  • Deadline= 19th January (Assuming the competition starts on 28th December)
  • Rules = they must follow your page and share your post, tagging 4 friends they would like to take along.

Step 2 - Make a Facebook post

Once you have decided what your contest will look like, the next thing you need to do is create a post to share (and then promote) on your Facebook page. This post will have two parts: text and an image. The text will be used to explain the pros and cons of the contest and the four main parts mentioned in step 1 that you are going to decide on.

The image is designed to attract the public's attention by sharing a small amount of information about the contest, leading people to read the main text to participate.

Step 3 - Promote the publication

Once your post is published on your escape room page, you can promote it. Boosting is Facebook's term for promoting the post outside of your page using money. While Facebook's ad platform is confusing and complex for beginners, boosting is designed to be much simpler and was created with beginners in mind.

If you want to know how to boost a post, we recommend reading the official Facebook documentation at the following link: https://www.facebook.com/business/pages/boost-post

Step 4 - Approach your new followers

You are now ready to start your contest and get new followers for a very low price. However, all this work will have been in vain unless you interact with your followers. So how can you interact with them? Here are some ideas:

  • Teaches, entertains, informs or inspires
  • Keep it simple
  • Focus on quality
  • Use (good) images
  • Make a video or broadcast live
  • Respond to your fans
  • Try everything
  • Publish consistently and at the right times

And there you have it: how to get new followers on Facebook for as little as €5 a day and how to engage with them so that they become new potential customers in the future.
