Challenges Facing the Industry

Five Spring Stresses — and How TuriTop Can Help

The customer certifies, equips, and dives. You make sure those three things don't fall through the cracks.

Challenge 1

Client Certification: The Filter You Can't Bypass

An Open Water diver can't go to the 28-meter wreck. If you sell that dive without verifying the diver's certification level, the customer will get on the boat and you'll discover that they can't legally dive with you. You'll have to give a refund, you'll waste the morning, and the review will say, "They kicked me off the boat."

How TuriTop Can Help You

  • Required custom fields: certifying agency (PADI/SSI/SDI), level, license number
  • Product by level: 'OW Dive,' 'AOW Dive,' 'Deep Dive.' Each has its own price and capacity.
  • A prior email from your domain requesting a photo of the license 48 hours in advance
  • To be honest: TuriTop collects the data; you're the one who visually verifies the license at the center.
Challenge 2

Equipment size: wetsuit, BCD, regulator. Limited stock

You have 12 size M BCDs, 4 size XL, and 2 size XS. If you book a dive for 8 people without asking for sizes, an XL-sized customer might show up and find that the only size left is XS. You give them a BCD that doesn't close, and the dive is uncomfortable. Or you leave them on shore and lose the money.

How TuriTop Can Help You

  • Custom fields when booking: wetsuit size, BCD size, footwear, shoe size
  • Customer information captured with each booking. Visible in the divemaster's check-in app
  • Resource Manager: If you have limited equipment, you can set it up as a resource
  • Manual bookings for customers with their own equipment (without deducting from your inventory)
Challenge 3

Surface interval and no-fly time. Planning that keeps you safe

A diver dives to 30 meters in the morning. In the afternoon, they want another dive to 25 meters. The minimum surface interval is 1 hour, followed by a decompression profile that many divers are unaware of. If your system books the next dive without considering the interval, an accident is bound to happen.

How TuriTop Helps You (Partially)

  • Products categorized by time, with the time slot you specify (morning/afternoon, with a minimum surface interval)
  • A prior email from your domain stating the rule against flying for 24 hours after the last deep dive
  • Let's be honest: TuriTop doesn't calculate decompression tables for you. You plan your day; TuriTop manages it.
  • Custom fields: last dive, most recent maximum depth, planned flight
Challenge 4

Open Water Course — 4 consecutive days, a multiple-session booking

You sell the Open Water course as a 4-day program: theory on Day 1, pool on Day 2, open water on Day 3, open water on Day 4. If you manage 4 separate bookings, the customer gets lost in their email inbox among 4 confirmations, 4 payments, and 4 templates. The entire course needs to be ONE booking.

How TuriTop Can Help You

  • "Open Water · 4 Days" course with a fixed price (€300) and an assigned instructor
  • QR check-in app to validate the course booking
  • Previous email with the course schedule + downloadable materials (digital manual)
  • Payment gateways: full payment or a 30% deposit at booking; the balance is due on day 1 of the course
Challenge 5

International tourists. Majority of volume during peak season

Your target market: Germans in the summer, Brits in the fall, Scandinavians in the winter. If the calendar and checkout are in Spanish, they’ll abandon their cart. If the confirmation comes in Spanish, the customer won’t know if everything is okay. The language barrier is where you lose conversions.

How TuriTop Can Help You

  • Multilingual system (+30 languages) for the calendar, checkout, and automated emails
  • The customer's language, recorded on every booking and available in the export
  • Channel Manager with International OTAs (GetYourGuide, Viator, Civitatis, Musement)
  • International payment gateways (Stripe, PayPal) for tourists who aren't familiar with Bizum

Frequently Asked Questions

Questions We Get from Dive Centers

How do I manage different certification levels (OW, AOW, Rescue, Deep)?

Each level is created as a separate product with its own price, capacity, and maximum depth. “Open Water Dive · 18m · 25€,” “Advanced Dive · 30m · 35€,” “Deep Dive · 40m · 55€.” Custom fields during booking capture the certifying agency (PADI, SSI, SDI, etc.), level, and license number. You request a photo of the certification card 48 hours in advance via a pre-sent email from your own domain. Visual verification of the certification card takes place at the dive center on the day of the dive. TuriTop captures the data; you confirm its validity.

Can I enter the equipment size when making a booking to manage my inventory?

Yes. You can set up required custom fields: wetsuit size, BCD size, footwear, shoe size, weight, and allergies. This information is visible on the booking. Before outfitting the group, the divemaster checks it using the mobile app. If your inventory of a specific piece of equipment is limited (for example, 4 XL BCDs), you can manage it as a resource in the Resource Manager. The system prevents you from selling more bookings than the available inventory for that equipment.

How do I manage multi-day Open Water courses?

You create the course as a single product: 'Open Water · 4 days · €300'. One booking, one payment, one QR code. The divemaster validates the booking in the mobile check-in app. If you need to record each day separately, create one product per day. The confirmation email includes the course schedule and downloadable materials (digital manual in PDF). To collect payment in installments, set up a 30% deposit at the time of booking, and the payment links sent via email will collect the balance on the first day of the course.

How do I manage surface intervals and the no-fly time rule?

TuriTop does not calculate decompression tables for you (that logic is handled by the customer’s dive computer). What it does is organize the itinerary: you set up the morning and afternoon dives with a minimum gap that respects the surface interval. Regarding the no-fly time (24 hours without flying after a deep dive), the confirmation email includes this rule. The customer reads it when booking, not at the airport.

How can I sell to international tourists without losing conversions due to language barriers?

Turn on the multi-language system. The calendar, the checkout and every automated email go out in the customer's language (+30 languages supported). The language is saved on the booking and comes through in the export. The Channel Manager syncs with +70 OTAs and nautical platforms (GetYourGuide, Viator, Civitatis, Tiqets, Musement, Booking.com) to reach the tourist who books their whole trip on a single site.
