Why Set Up a TripAdvisor Account?

  4. Although the reviews may not always be positive, they provide valuable feedback to help you improve certain aspects of your business. Maybe you’re overlooking something?
  5. If your website isn’t well-ranked in search engines yet, but you’re registered on TripAdvisor, you’ll appear near the top of the results, and visitors can click through to your website from there.

Open a TripAdvisor Account

It’s much easier than you think. Click on “Open a TripAdvisor Account” and select your business type. You’ll be taken to a new page where you’ll need to fill out the form.

VERY IMPORTANT: In addition to making sure all your information is correct, carefully enter your website and Facebook page URLs. We recommend copying and pasting the links to your pages in case you make a typo.

After filling out the form, click “Submit”, and within a few days (it may take up to a month in some cases), you’ll receive an email confirming your account.

Please note: Your business may have already been registered by a third party. Check this by visiting the TripAdvisor website and entering your company’s name in the search bar in the upper-right corner.

How do I verify my account?

You’ve already taken the first step—creating an account—but to verify your ownership of that account, you’ll need to follow these steps:

  1. Click here and select your business type (Hotel/Accommodation, Vacation Rental, Restaurant, Attraction).
  2. Enter your business name, select it from the drop-down menu, and click “Search.”
  3. Click “Register for this business.” If you don’t have a user account, you’ll need to sign up using your Facebook or Google account, or by filling out the form.
  4. After signing up or logging in, you must fill out the form specifying your connection to the business.

You’ll have 3 options to verify your identity:

  1. Verification via Facebook account (the fastest and easiest, though it sometimes doesn’t work)
  2. Credit card verification (you won’t be charged)
  3. Verification through customer service (you’ll need to fax information proving your connection to the company)

Need to update an existing profile?

If you’re already registered and verified on TripAdvisor and want to update your account, click on “Management Center.” Select your business type (Hotel/Accommodation, Vacation Rental, Restaurant, Attraction) and enter your business name on the new screen.
