As you know, through the TuriTop booking system, you can create random, single-use promotional code packages. This feature is very useful because it streamlines the creation process and helps improve cross-selling of your various products and services.
There are three steps involved in creating and sending discount codes: First, create them in TuriTop; second, add the codes to your MailChimp subscriber list; and finally, send the email to the list.
Let’s go through it step by step:
Create Promotional Codes in TuriTop
Here’s how to generate promotional codes.
- Go to the service where you want to create the codes and navigate to Pricing and Discounts.
- Choose the type of discount you want to offer: Percentage off (%), different price per ticket (€), subtract from the final price (€), or different final price (€).
- Decide whether you want the discount to apply to all ticket types or to a specific one.
- Click on “Multiple Promotional Codes.”
- In the “Repeat” field, enter the number of codes you need to generate, and in the “Prefix” field, specify whether you want them to start with a particular word or letters.
- Click “Create,” and you’re done. Your single-use promotional codes have now been generated.
Add the Promo Codes to Your MailChimp List
In the instructions below, we’ll assume you want to send each subscriber a single-use promo code.
- Export your MailChimp contact list.
- In the generated CSV file, delete all columns except the “Email” column (this will make the import process faster).
- Create a new column in the CSV file—call it “Promo Code,” for example.
- Add the promo codes generated in TurITop for each contact to the “Promo Code” column.
- Import the CSV file—which contains each subscriber’s email address and their promo code—into your MailChimp list. During the import, you’ll need to create a new “Discount Code” column.
Now you’ll have a discount code associated with each contact in your MailChimp list.
Send the Promo Codes to Your MailChimp Subscribers
Now that the promo codes are in your MailChimp list, you can send each contact their code. Here are the steps:
- Create a new campaign in MailChimp.
- In the Design tab of your campaign, add the Discount Code tag to the part of the email where you want it to appear.
- Run a test and send your campaign.
Each subscriber will receive an email with their assigned promotional code.
